Intermediate Structural Engineer

Position Summary:

As a Structural Engineer at our company you are expected to work independently on design, construction review, and report preparation for residential and commercial building projects.

Key Responsibilities:


  • New building analysis and design.
  • Site visits and reports documenting general review of buildings throughout construction.
  • Condition assessments and corresponding reports for existing buildings.
  • Fee estimates and work authorizations for new projects.

Key Qualifications:

  • Registered, for a minimum of 1 year, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • A minimum of 4 years of structural engineering on residential and commercial projects.
  • Ability to achieve project objectives with a high level of quality and professionalism, within project timelines and budgets.
  • Ability to communicate, effectively and timely, with clients, co-workers, and contractors by keeping their perspectives and interests at the forefront.
  • Ability to write reports and produce sketches.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Confident and experienced in the structural design, using Canadian codes, of:
    • Conventional wood.
    • Structural steel.
    • Concrete.
  • Basic understanding of the structural design of:
    • Timber.
    • Cold-formed steel.
    • Solar PV systems.
