Structural E.I.T.

Full-Time | Port Carling

Our Port Carling office is seeking a Structural E.I.T. with appropriate qualifications to carry out the following responsibilities:

  • Provide structural review of single and multi-unit modular buildings
  • Create pre-feasibility reports related to the proposed installation of solar panels or residential, industrial, and institutional type structures
  • Complete site visits to review existing structures and investigate areas of structural deterioration
  • Complete construction site visits to review and report on the conformance of the contractorsí work with the contract documents and specifications ∑Develop structural analysis and drawings for remedial/retrofit strength and integrity
  • Conduct a variety of field services, such as by-law compliance, master development plans, municipal service access and permitting, construction design, architecture, and space planning


  • Enrolled in a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering
  • Minimum of 1 year of drafting experience in the workplace
  • Preferred experience in the residential construction industry
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Strong understanding of quality standards for structural design and planning, engineering fundamentals and principles, as well as all relevant codes and jurisdictions
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • High level of sound and independent judgement and reasoning
  • Knowledgeable of legislated compliance acts such as O.B.C., W.H.M.I.S., and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
